Mime Trap

Have you ever been out walking along,
Rather than taking a bus.
And found yourself suddenly in the trap,
That a mime has laid for us.

He will posture and pose and mimic you,
As through his routine he goes.
Your face, your hair, the way you walk,
And the style of your clothes.

But do as I do and have there in your mind,
A box of reality clear.
And drop it around the mime so smug,
So you will feel no fear.

Then you can escape and walk away,
And think it not a crime.
That outside the box what’s ours is ours,
And inside what’s mime is mime.
