Old Shoes
A young clown went out looking,
A very long time ago.
To find the right pair of shoes,
To wear in the Big Top Show.
They had to be just right,
And match his rainbow attire.
They had to help him look clownish,
Deep laughter to inspire.
The years have now passed forward,
Those feet have walked many miles.
The shoes are still there with patches,
They have brought millions of smiles.
He had a name at one time,
But of that there are no clues.
Everyone at the show now,
Calls out to see “Old Shoes”.
